Corporate Halloween Tarot at Logitech: A Nightmare Before Christmas Party

Some events give you a dress code. Others give you an excellent excuse to show up to work with bright red hair dressed as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

In October 2024, Logitech invited me to bring tarot readings to their employee Halloween party in Silicon Valley. The event already had a full Nightmare Before Christmas theme, so arriving with a generic tarot table felt like a missed opportunity.

If the party was going all the way to Halloween Town, the tarot reader was coming too.

Building the tarot table into the theme

For corporate events, I always want the tarot setup to feel like it belongs in the room rather than something that was added at the last minute.

For Logitech, that meant purple and black, candlelight, glowing crystal balls, black flowers, a crescent moon lamp, Halloween details, and small Nightmare Before Christmas characters mixed into the table decor.

And then there was the obvious final detail: I came dressed as Sally.

The result was a tarot corner that felt like part of the party itself. Guests could spot it across the room, understand immediately what was happening, and wander over when curiosity got the better of them. Which, fortunately for my business model, it usually does.

45 readings and an extra hour

The original booking was for two hours.

For a large corporate party, I keep readings short, usually around four minutes per person. It is enough time for each guest to ask a question, choose cards and have a real mini reading without creating a queue that develops its own municipal government.

At Logitech, there was a steady live line throughout the event. People who had already had a reading started sending their coworkers over.

Two hours became three.

By the end of the party, I had done about 45 individual readings.

One of my last readings of the evening was for the HR team member who had originally hired me through The Bash. After organizing the experience for everyone else, she finally got to sit down and have her own reading too.

Why tarot works so well at corporate Halloween parties

Halloween makes tarot an easy fit, but the cards are only part of what makes it work.

At a company party, guests are constantly moving between conversations, food, drinks and activities. A good tarot station gives them something different: a few minutes to sit down, ask a question and have an experience that feels personal.

Then they go back to their coworkers and say, essentially, “You have to try this.”

That happened repeatedly at Logitech, and it is one of the reasons I prefer short readings for larger events. In three hours, 45 employees were able to participate without turning the tarot table into an all-night commitment.

And because the setup was designed around the event theme, the tarot station became part of the visual experience too.

Planning a corporate Halloween party in the Bay Area?

Roadmap Tarot provides short, engaging tarot readings for corporate Halloween parties and employee events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

The setup can be adapted to your event theme, from classic Halloween and gothic elegance to something considerably more specific involving striped hills, skeletons and an unreasonable amount of purple.

For larger groups, I can also help determine the right booking length and guest flow based on your expected attendance.
